Dobra Voda - Ulcinj

Day 8

After a night of rest and recovery, we leave today for our last day expedition.

Today's destination is Ulcinj, located in the southern of Montenegro.

Packed bags, oars in hand and we followed for another 15km.

Along the way, many contrasts are found between the old and the new. Montenegro really presents us with phenomenal landscapes.

Ulcinj approaches and from far away we can see bigt walls and their fortresses, which for centuries were the great guardians of the city.

Ulcinj tells us many stories. The city was once a pirate asylum. There existed a big  slave trade and to this day its main square is called Slaves Square.

The famous Spanish writter Miguel de Cervantes was one of the prisoners and slaves in Ulcinj.

Ulcinj is indeed one of Montenegro's most historic cultural heritage cities. And to finalize our expedition, we chose a legendary hotel that brings us back to that time. It is located at the top of a fort of more than 2,000 years of construction. A true Palace amidst so much history and culture.

To close the evening, a special dinner to commemorate the end of our expedition and the beginning of a new life!
